Over the
years, we have been asked by concerned and involved parents, why
can’t local public elementary schools meet my child’s unique
academic needs and learning style? We have carefully analyzed these
thought provoking questions.
Over the course of time, “going
back to basics” has served many schools well. Children at the
elementary grades of educational development require very basic
needs. The first need is a small overall class size. Our entire
student enrollment will only be 30 or less including all
grades. Secondly, personalized classroom instruction for each
student. Many university studies have shown that the more individual
time a teacher spend with a student leads to much more academic
success in current and future educational endeavors. The third need
is strong, consistent, and candid communications with the student’s
family to ensure an on-going external support network. Again,
several studies have determined that when a student has a distinct
lack of family support outside of the classroom there have been
higher incidences of behavior and academic problems.
We, at the Montessori School of
San Ramon feel that your child is unique and special to this world.
The more we can support and nurture your child’s desire for
exploration, experimentation, and investigation the more your child
will want to learn and grow. The Montessori School of San Ramon
offers that child who needs an enriched program an accelerated rigor
of study that will challenge their cognitive and academic abilities
to the fullest.
